This session consisted of installing the games, creating a Character and playing for about 30 minutes.
Installing and creating the character were simple - no glitches - no frustrations. It looks like I can create as many characters as I like. There are 2 factions and three classes to choose from in each faction. Pretty standers stuff there... nothing too off the wall, different or creative.
The gameplay seems to be designed with simple, approachable, learn-as-you-go standards. I think EA approached it this way so it could widen the audience. Gotta' get those mini-transactions going at scale to make this a success.
I could see myself spending some good time playing BF heroes and here's why... lifestyle. I'm often (brain) fried when I get home and I could definitely cool out playing this kind of game. And hey - the simple satisfaction of shotgunning unsuspecting 10 year-olds just puts me at ease :)
Actually you can only create 4 characters, and you can't delete them, so be a little careful creating them. 6 characters would've made more sense: all 3 characters classes for both sides. You can buy extra character slots, so this is just one of the ways EA is trying to make some money from the product.
If you signed up for the beta, you should have received 200 free Battlefunds, enough to buy one extra character/hero slot. They cost 140.
I also discovered (too late) you can sign up for info/promotions/something on "Battlefield Heroes and other EA products" here which would've got you some free in-game stuff according to this thread. Apparently they will give more free stuff later, so I decided to sign in and deal with the e-mail ads I'm sure will follow. :)
Oh the stories that could be made from this when taken out of context... haha.
